Our Platform

Healthcare

Healthcare is out of control. People pay premiums for years and then cannot get basic or even life saving surgery without straining themselves financially. According to Healio, a whopping 91 million Americans cannot afford quality healthcare(Healio) to live a happy and healthy life. While capitalism is a phenomenal foundation of our country and a driver for a lot of what is good in our beautiful land, it has caused too much greed in a field that needs to put people over profits. Therefore, we at the reboot party want to subsidize a majority of medical treatments as well as pass legislation to increase the amount of people able to apply for medical insurance assistance.

Health insurance is just too expensive. People struggle to pay premiums, and when they actually need that assistance, they struggle to pay the out of pocket costs associated with treatment. To combat this, we want to subsidize common treatments to make them more affordable to all people. Yes, all things cost money, but something as essential to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness as healthcare shouldn't burden honest and hardworking people.

Another way to remedy this ballooning problem is to decrease the bar for people to be able to apply for federal assistance. To get people back on their feet and start saving, investing, and building wealth so something like an injury can never shake them again, giving those people more assistance seems to be the most efficient option. To be clear, people will have to show some effort in their life to get better, this money will not be a handout to anyone. But again, something as ubiquitous to a happy life as the peace of mind of going to the hospital and knowing they will not carry an onus for decades for it is well worth increasing assistance.

Education

Education is essential to a great country, and a hallmark of the U.S.A. However, cost increases in higher education in recent years have restricted many people from going to the college they want and drowning in debt after completing multiple grueling years. According to Lending Tree, student debt is up to 1.81 trillion. People just cannot support themselves and get a college education. At the reboot party, we have a solution. We are going to increase lending and increase communication between state and federal departments of education.

College is no doubt an expensive venture, but having to suffer in debt for decades to achieve a part of the American dream that will restrict you from financial comfort is not a good trade-off. To fix this problem, we are going to take one billion dollars from the defense budget, the total budget of the defense department is 873 billion dollars(Peter G Peterson), to obtain more money to hand out more grants and aid to everyone who wants to pursue higher education. This increased funding will lessen the burden on people in college and attract more capable people to enter the college system.

Our next goal is to weave state department and federal department education communication more to revive the federal department with a purpose and to streamline aid from both parties. We do not plan to give either department more or less power, but rather more cooperation. Examples for our vision include liaisons between departments to make communication clearer and increased meetings between the two in Washington and in the various states. Our education at every level should be more streamlined and efficient, and meshing the two levels of educational departments will achieve that goal.

Immigration

Immigration has reached a peak not seen since the early 1900s(P.R.C). With the resurgence of immigrants in the modern age, our approach now needs to fit the mass of people wanting to enter the great United States of America while also making our current residents happy and safe. We at the Reboot Party have a simple yet effective solution: reform the application process to make the system more adaptable to the influx.

A central part of the issue is the ludicrous amount of time it takes to become a citizen. People feel as if they have no other choice but to come here illegally to escape dangerous situations around the world and to our beautiful country. According to U.C.I.S., the average wait time for all people immigrating is seven and a half years(UCIS). That is absurd. People want to come here to find a better life, families need to be reunited faster, and students need to pursue the best education in the world. Our party will allocate more resources to the immigrant processing parts of our government to speed up the process for all who come. And when people are able to come to our country faster and faster, there will be no need to come here illegally.

Where will that extra funding come from? At the Reboot Party, we think that extra money should come from the current money directed toward I.C.E. Obviously, some resources would stay there as I.C.E continues to protect our borders. This process would need to be done incrementally, of course, but as more and more people realize how much faster and easier it is, the less people would feel the need to come here illegally.

Foreign Policy

We are the most powerful nation in the world. In that position, it is our obligation to make peace, prosperity, and to advance American ideals to the world. The Gaza-Israel conflict, Russia versus Ukraine, and economic foreign policy are all current examples for America to be mighty yet kind to all nations. We at the Reboot Party will promote democracy and more free trade, supporting Ukraine in the face of Russia, the oppressor, and peace in Jerusalem with a two-state solution.

The Russo-Ukrainian war has reached devastating levels, and our assistance has topped 66.9 billion dollars to Ukraine since the full-scale invasion (US Department of State). At the Reboot Party, we think this is not only a waste of taxpayers' money but also human lives. We plan to use our global superpower position to pressure Russia to back off as peacefully and swiftly as possible.

Violence has reached genocidal levels in Israel in Gaza. While we applaud Israel for continuing to be our number one ally in the Middle East, a two-state solution seems to be the only way to settle the dust. Money wasted, lives lost, and diplomatic strain are abundant in the conflict; therefore, ending it through a two-state solution is a top priority.

We at the reboot party believe that free trade is essential to not just our economic health, but the world’s. Look at our country, when states controlled their own trade barriers, there was confusion and a lack of economic prosperity. Now, with free trade with all fifty states, we have grown to the foremost power in the world that innovates and carves the path forward for the world. With that in mind, we should continue to fight for fewer trade barriers around the world to bring products to people, including us, as cheaply as possible.

...with some words from our Vice President

On July 4th, 1776, the Declaration of Independence boldly demanded the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all Americans. With the crises our nation faces, we believe America needs a Reboot, drawing on the values that serve as the bedrock of our country.

To ensure that Americans have the right to life, we will expand public healthcare, creating competition with the private sector that will result in lower, more stable prices for all Americans.

The US has long been a beacon of hope for all those seeking liberty. As such, we will take a strong stance in support of peace for Ukraine and Russia, along with Israel and Palestine. We also recognize that America will only grow stronger through cooperation with the global community, which is why we support reduced tariffs and more free trade. Additionally, to support hard-working and honest immigrants, we’ll gradually divert funds from ICE to make the immigration process more efficient so that the immigrants who are pillars in their communities will have a chance to live the American dream themselves.

Americans deserve the right to pursue happiness regardless of the conditions they were born into. We will expand public education by better funding the Department of Education and by providing incentives to states to expand their public education programs.

In order to accomplish our agenda, we will emphasize cooperation with other parties on common goals to provide the efficient governance that Americans deserve.

Let’s reboot our nation together.

And supporting us are these interest groups...

6. How This Ties Into our Campaign

  • a. One of our main goals is to ensure that education is accessible and affordable for the younger generations of our nation. The AFC strives heavily in supporting that, seen in their advocations, the enormous number of children enrolled in the program, and their overall impact through continuously gathering voices to help spread their goals. This being said, they would be a great group to support and team with in order to reach our goals.

  • c. They protect civilians, help reunite families torn apart from each other, and advocate/voice out the rights of those who are being affected through this conflict.

4. How This Helps our Campaign

  • a. Not only is this an international organization that we can team up with and help strengthen countries and people whose lives are being torn apart due to the immense amount of conflicts from war, but it also resonates with our goals to helping provide support and end wars in places like Gaza, Israel, etc. The ICRC being international also helps boost the "foreign" policy, because we would be creating a strengthened bond with an international organization that’s based in Switzerland, helping boost relations with that country perhaps, but we'd also be strengthening bonds with the countries that the ICRC and ourselves would help.

4. How This Helps our Campaign

  • a. We want lower insurance costs and easier, accessible healthcare for our nation to ensure the safety and highest quality of health for the people, and Families USA has very similar goals and ideas that align with ours. Together we could come up with a plan to

Immigration Issues

We want to defund groups like ICE that focus on violent and inhumane deportation of immigrants, and rather help immigrants to gain citizenship in our nation, while keeping those already here safe. Supporting this group will help eliminate inhumane deportation actions, and help give opportunities for families in bad areas to safely and lawfully migrate here.
